About Us

Verity George and Lisa Prager met in 1995 and bonded over their love of the arts. Establishing Garnet Station in 2007 on the fringe of Auckland city, their baby flourished into an iconic café, bar and live performance venue, described by Canvas magazine as “an artsy little hole for thespians, vagabonds and misfits”. It has been a lesbian meeting place for many years. Ms George is the consummate hostess and up till recently Prager could be found in the kitchen. Now they have transformed into a gallery selling quality, contemporary New Zealand art, presenting monthly-curated collections with a strong focus on enhanced digital photography.
