FIZZ IMPROV COMEDY

Fridays: 5 July - 16 Aug, 2024

FIZZ is the brain child of Clare Kelso who has had an interesting life. At 73 she is the oldest professional improvisor in New Zealand. Clare worked her passage to NZ as a dog handler aboard a container ship, leaving behind the life of a shepherd and a horse riding instructor. In the 80s she won Shell Playwright of the year and this year ended a 35 year stint as a volunteer for Auckland Zoo. Clare Kelso was the producer who guided THEATRESPORTS to success in the 90s, joining as an actor in 1988.

Now Clare is working with the all woman Mischief Company – tutoring, performing as FIZZ and encouraging some very talented women to tell stories through improv comedy.

Full of effervescence and carbonated laughter FIZZ invites you to enjoy the spontaneity from the comfort of your seat and on the last Friday of the month FIZZ performs on a Saturday, just to keep you on your toes!

Featuring a revolving cast of improvisors: Clare Kelso, Anke Zondag, Tresna Hunt, Fran Vergara, Tamara Androsoff and the occasional guest performer!
